Do you ever wonder how much effort is put into writing and drawing your favorite comic books? One of Taiwan’s earliest and most popular comic book artists Hsu Mao-sung and his generation endured censorship, or “the reviews,” during Taiwan’s martial law period in the 1960s and 70s. Yet, while many artists quit, Mr. Hsu persevered. He received a Special Contribution Award from Taiwan’s government in September, a belated acknowledgement of his efforts to preserve Taiwan’s comic books industry. And the government announced plans to revive local comics. Mr. Hsu recently sat down with CNA to share his story.

The suit is mostly made of polyester putty, but also includes LED lights on the palms, chest and helmet. Wu is a dance teacher in the city of Tainan, and he wears the suit in public to practice his dance moves. It's not everyday you get to see Iron Man getting jiggy with it. This proves that the man really does make the suit. ------------------------------------------------------------- Welcome to TomoNews, where we animate the mos...
